OK really bad blogger

I guess if I'm going to have this thing and have it in my signature I really need to keep it updated.

The past couple weeks have been busy. We are on week 4 of Kaitlyn's cast and hoping it comes off for good on Tuesday. Thankfully most of her softball games have been cancelled for rain so she should be able to play the rest of them. Hard to believe that school is almost over and she'll offically be a 7th grader. YIKES scares me.

Spent the weekend cleaning out flower beds and planting. Kaitlyn decided she wanted to make her own garden so that's what she did with a little help (having a cast on your right hand makes it hard to do somethings). No before shots unfortunately but here's the after.

She's frustrating me she's at that stage where she doesn't want her picture taken even if she poses or it's spontaneous. Driving me crazy since I love to take her picture. This is what I got today.

I'm struggling with my lack of motivation to lose the weight I've gained. I look in the mirror and get frustrated. But I don't change my eatting or my exercise. Nothing fits. I'm going to have to make myself do it. Otherwise life is normal.

Oh tomorrow is award ceremony for the 6th grade. At 1:10pm. Why would they schedule it in the middle of the day I don't know but thankfully I can get off of work early to be there. She doesn't know what she's getting an award for so it should be interesting. I'll post about it tomorrow

New hair

WOW 2 posts in one night.

Kaitlyn got her hair cut this evening. She's been wanting to for over a month. Her hair has been long (below the bra line on her back) but not as long as it was a year or so ago. But shorter and layered she went.

She only allowed me to take 5 pictures of her new do. 5 my child is so mean.

Here's one

Update and pictures

Ok I'm a bad blogger and I whine when others don't update. Kaitlyn broke her thumb 2 weeks ago playing floor hockey at school so we are now in a bright yellow cast.

Soccer season is over. We finished in 1st place with 9 wins and one tie. No losses. YIPEE what a great season. Softball is getting going though we're sitting on the bench with the broken thumb but the cast should come off on the 8th.

Here's a couple pictures

This great photo is when I asked her to give me a nice smile. She's gotten pretty tired of me taking pictures.

Who's Here

I don't get many visitors but I know that there are at least a couple people who check out my blog. My nice site meter tells me so. But who are you? No one leaves a message any more. I know it's been pretty boring here but I'd love to know who takes the time to visit.

So please so I don't think I'm talking to myself completely just take a sec and say hi.

Crazy Weekend + a week

What a week and a weekend. 7 soccer games in 10 days. 2 Indoor games and 5 outdoor games. Kaitlyn's indoor team went undefeated and won the championship in OT with penalty kicks. Her indoor team is still undefeated and only 2 games left of the season.

In there we also had softball practice, work, school and a variety show at church. Kaitlyn and her friend Logan played their clarinet and basson (respectively) in the variety show and played when the Saints go Marching In. If I can figure out how to down load the video camera to my computer and upload a video I will post it later.

Well I wrote this a week ago and haven't gotten around to posting it yet. We've had a week of two nights of hail, tornados, lots of rain with lots of damage in the area but thankfully none at our house. One more soccer game which we tied 0-0. We only have one more game to play this season.

Softball starts on Thursday night so I'll be posting about that. Wonder should I change my blog title to daily life of a softball mom?

I promise I'll post pictures later.

saying goodbye

Today I took my precious kitty Spaz and had her put to sleep. She's slowly been going downhill for months and the last few weeks it has become worse and worse. She was beginning to suffer so.

We've had her now for almost 15 yrs. We moved to Texas in May of 93 and the first week of June we went to the city pound and found her there. Tiny tiny little ball of gray and white fluff. Her name came from how she acted she would be laying there calm as can be then just start racing around the house jumping and attacking things.

When Kaitlyn came along she would get very upset when she cried. If I wasn't where she was she'd come running to me and meow until I went and stopped her crying.

She's always had a motor on her and she purred very loud. That didn't change even at the very end. She died peacefully in my arms and I know she is in a better place. But it still breaks my heart to know she's gone

Taking pictures

Boy is it hard to take pictures of your own kid. Kaitlyn looked so beautiful today dressed up for Easter so I wanted to take a couple pictures. This is what I had to deal with to finally get one that's ok.

After all that I finally got one that's not the best but shows her beauty.

Catching up

Ok I've been fighting a cold for a few days and have felt like crud. Slept until 10 this morning and boy did that make a difference.

Kailtyn's still playing both indoor and outdoor soccer and both teams are undefeated. Here's some pictures from Saturday's outdoor game.

Not much else going on. It's spring break so time to keep the child entertained.

Snow, Soccer and catching up

It's been a while since I posted. Life is busy but what else is new. Last night we had snow real honest snow. Unfortunately it only lasted a few hours but it was beautiful while it lasted

Kaitlyn had a soccer game on Saturday and then we headed to Houston to visit friends. Her soccer team is undefeated so far this season and hope to stay so. Here is a picture from the game Amazing while it snowed last night the weekend the temps were in the high 70's Weather is weird here in Texas.

Last but not least a picture I took in the car of Kaitlyn. I love the picture even though the light is at a bad angle.

Some soccer pictures

OK since I did call my blog the daily life of a soccer mom and I don't post daily I did think I should post some soccer pictures from last weekend. Kaitlyn's team won 3-0. It was cold out that morning but so much fun to watch and take pictures again. I'm still struggling with the focus on my new camera but I know with time and practice I'll get better.

the house of the crabby sickies

UGH John has been sick now for almost 2 weeks. The first 6 days he was flat on his back either in bed or on the couch. Fever, flu, cough, totally ill. Day 7 - 11 have been him grouchy, coughy, tired and not very pleasant to be around half the time.

Two days ago K started coughing, sore throat, low grade fever and cranky. Thankfully today no fever or sore throat just cough. Didn't let her play soccer tonight nor work the high school game since it's 40 and yucky outside. She's supposed to have a game tomorrow and Sunday. We'll see what the weather does. If it starts raining tonight no game tomorrow I'm sure, otherwise we just might be out there in the rain. UGH

So far I've avoided the sickies and hope to continue to do so but boy I'm ready to move out until the rest of them are healthy.

Indoor soccer

Well Kaitlyn plays indoor soccer as well as outdoor soccer. The indoor team she is playing with is actually a select soccer team that she hopes to play for next year. They are a great group and she's learning lots. Here's a few pictures from tonight

Sick house

Well we are on day 4 of dh being sick. He's been hit hard with the flu and even with Tamiflu he's still down for the count.

Lots of clorox being used and hand washing. Keep us in your prayers that Kaitlyn and I don't get it too.

Kaitlyn has an indoor soccer game tonight so I'll update later with new pictures.

Gymnastics

For the last 2 yrs Kailtyn has asked and asked to take gymnastics. Since she did karate 3 days a week, soccer, and softball I've always said no. She took it when she was 3 & 4 but not since. Well since karate is done (she received her 1st degree black belt) I said ok. Tonight was class #3. She is such an athlete and keeps trying things until she gets it right. Here are a couple pictures from tonight.

Pictures

OK I promised pictures. First here is the couch. THe living room is in dire need of decorating but I love the new couch.

Next are pictures of Kaitlyn and John right before the dance.

I'll update tomorrow on all the details I get about the dance. John was funny he was very worried about having to dance since he has never been one to dance in all the years we've been together.

Time Flies

WOW I can't believe it's February already. Nothing special going on just normal life. Work, school, sports, science projects.
Unfortunately no pictures to show for any of it. I promise to make up for that this month.

Tonight is the Daddy/Daughter dance I promise I will have pictures to show for that.

Kaitlyn has started in gymnastics. She's been begging for months to go and I finally broke down a couple weeks ago. She's perfectly built for the sport and is doing great. Took my camera to get pictures and didn't have a memory card.

Indoor soccer has started and her team won their first game. She is playing with a select soccer team that she wants to play on next year. Again no pictures as I walked out of the house and left the camera on my desk.

That's about all for now. We did get our new couch and it looks great (I'll take pictures today) and my scrap room is coming together slowly, very slowly. again pictures to come.

Reorganization and my parents

Mom and Dad came for a visit and were here for 5 days. It was a great visit. Now my mother can not sit still for more than 5 minutes. So Monday she and Kaitlyn redid her room. The walls were that color from when I painted them a few months ago but the room was in major need of reorganization and a new dresser.

Here are a couple pictures of Kaitlyn with my mom and dad

Now mom wasn't statisfied with just doing Kaitlyn's room. She totally redid my kitchen cabinets. She then made me do what I've been talking about doing for months redo my scrap room. Now that room isn't finished so I'll hold onto those pictures until this weekend.

My hair cut and misc other things

OK I went shorter on my hair a week ago and people have been asking what it looks like. So here is a picture.

After 4 months of being responsible for cleaning my own house after having a housekeeper for the previous 3 yrs we have another housekeeper. She is awesome my house is clean, smells good, looks good and I didn't have to do it. :) She'll be coming every two weeks. YIPEE

We went out a purchased a new couch (actually a sectional) for the living room this weekend. I can't wait until it gets here. I'll post a picture once it's delivered. It's a nice dark chocolate brown leather.

It's now been a week since I've stopped to buy my coffee. My carpool buddy and I decided that we would save money and actually make our own coffee at home and take it to work. Hasn't been bad. I've actually even brought my lunch to work 4 out of the last 6 days. Now to keep both up it will balance out the cost of the housekeeper and help me loose weight.

Now my spare bedroom isn't finished being ready for my parents but I'll get that done this week. We took a truck load of stuff to the goodwill on Saturday now most of the stuff is stuff that needs to be put where it belongs instead of just throwing it behind closed doors

some pictures

nope none of my hair cut yet. I promise tomorrow. Here is two of Kaitlyn playing her clarinet. First one is her and her friend Logan playing their instruments before Christmas.
This one is her band concert.

I'm going to try and post a picture a day of just life. Once soccer starts I'm sure there will be lots of those pictures but I really need to work on recording daily life.
